R<THINK is a cloud-based software (SaaS) solution for life cycle assessments (LCA), environmental product declarations (EPD), and carbon footprint calculations (CCF). You enter your product data once, and the software uses it to calculate environmental impacts, EPDs, and your corporate carbon footprint.
R<THINK is a brand of NIBE, part of the Kiwa Group. The verification of your environmental data is handled by Kiwa Ecobility Experts, an accredited, independent third-party organization. You perform the calculations yourself; Kiwa confirms the results.

Where does R<THiNK come from?
R<THiNK was developed by LCA experts with more than 30 years of experience in life cycle assessment. The construction industry in the Netherlands was one of the first sectors to adopt LCA as an environmental management tool, driven by government regulations. The platform originated from this practice.

Can I create an EPD myself using R<THiNK>?
Yes. You model your product, and the platform calculates the life cycle assessment and generates the supporting report in accordance with EN 15804 or EN 50693. Verification by an independent body remains mandatory; the Kiwa Ecobility Experts are available to assist with this.
For which products is R<THiNK suitable?
For construction products (EN 15804) and for electrical and electronic products (EN 50693). The platform deliberately does not offer life cycle assessments for other sectors.
How much does R<THiNK cost?
There are two license options, Business and Professional, each available as an annual license for 3 users. CCF and Share are add-ons. Current prices are listed on the platform’s Solution pages; you can request a quote via the appointment link.
Do I need prior knowledge of LCA?
A basic understanding of life cycle phases and life cycle assessment is helpful. Predefined modules, onboarding, training, and the HelpDesk portal will guide you through your first calculation.

Kiwa Ecobility Experts in Berlin, an independent verification body. The verification process takes place directly on the platform using the verification feature.

Life cycle assessment (LCA)

The Product Carbon Footprint records all greenhouse gas emissions throughout the entire life cycle of a product.
